Veranderingen in Amendment 35-10 van de IMDG code kunnen alvast geraadpleegd worden. De veranderingen zijn per 1 januari 2012 verplicht en mogen reeds vanaf 1 januari 2011 gebruikt worden. Een van de wijzigingen betreft de invoeging van een SP (Special Provision) 357 Petroleum crude oil containing hydrogen sulphide in sufficient concentration that vapours evolved from the crude oil can present an inhalation hazard shall be consigned under the entry UN 3494 PETROLEUM SOUR CRUDE OIL, FLAMMABLE, TOXIC. Verder mag een vervoerder middels een nieuw artikel 5.1.1.3.1: A carrier shall not accept dangerous goods for transport unless: (a) A copy of the dangerous goods transport document and other documents or information as required by the provisions of this Code are provided; or (b) The information applicable to the dangerous goods is provided in electronic form.

In hoofdstuk 5.4 is er wederom een verruiming gecreëerd voor het stimuleren van het gebruik van digitale ladinginformatie: "Except as otherwise provided, the consignor who offers dangerous goods for transport shall give to the carrier the information applicable to those dangerous goods, including any additional information and documentation as specified in this Code. This information may be provided on a dangerous goods transport document or, with the agreement of the carrier, by EDP or EDI techniques. 5.4.1.1.2 When the dangerous goods transport information is given to the carrier by EDP or EDI techniques, the consignor shall be able to produce the information without delay as a paper document, with the information in the sequence required by this chapter".

In artikel 5.4.1.5 wordt nogmaals duidelijk gemaakt dat de hoeveelheid en inhoud van iedere binnenverpakking niet vermeld hoeft te worden. “
